With a fast-growing population of approximately 200 million people in Nigeria, There is an inevitable short production of chicken despite the rapid increase in production in recent years due to the federal government ban on imported frozen chicken.
Nigeria currently produces about 180 million birds making the country the second-largest producer in Africa after South Africa.
Despite the ban placed on frozen chicken and the increased production of live birds, there is still a very high consumption rate of frozen chicken in the country caused by illegal importation.
This shows that there is still a large vacuum that needs to be filled by poultry farmers in Nigeria.
This poultry farm is sited at Amassoma road, Yenagoa, Bayelsa state and will be rearing broiler chickens that will be processed for meat at maturity.
